Google Rolls Out Panda Update: Content Still Paramount

This week Google announced that it was rolling out a new Panda 4.0 update, an important announcement for those in marketing and SEO, because Google hasn’t announced an update to Panda in a while (there have been “refreshes” which have been done without any fanfare).

As expected, the new update caused a flurry of blogs and articles. Because what does this mean for you, your business and your website? Well, we won’t really know the full impact of the update for a while.

But here’s what you do need to know for now. Panda punishes websites that have duplicate content, and not enough content, says Business 2 Community. This report continued, offering tips of what you can do to make sure your website doesn’t lose its ranking. The most important point? Creating unique, high-quality content.

Forget the algorithm for a minute, and think about what you like to look at online. We’re all  searching for information. So when we find websites that don’t have quality information, or much of what we’re looking for, we click away.

We’ve said this before, but we’ll say it again and again: Your website needs to have a lot of original, quality content. When each of the new algorithm updates have been released, content is always the most important and the most beneficial for SEO.

The easiest way to load up your site with content is by creating and frequently updating a blog. Make sure your posts are informative, original information. If thinking about creating a blog overwhelms you, check out our ways to jumpstart the process here.
